Supply and Demand: The story of the Early Shopkeepers and the Survival of a town
Survival of early regional towns in the mid to late 19th Century relied on the supply and demand between the shop keeper and the customer. The town of Dubbo was no different from this, enticing individuals from various backgroundS to settle and make the Australian dream come true. So what made these individuals choose Dubbo? What made them set up shop and provide services to the community?
Join Mariam Abboud as she examines the important role of shopkeepers in the development of a regional town drawing on objects from the WPCC Collection.
Tickets are free but essential. Light refreshments will be served so join us on your lunch break for a fascinating look in to our local history.
