The Stuart Town Community

The village of Stuart town is located between Wellington and Orange off Burrendong Way Road. Approximately 35 kilometres from Wellington, in the Dubbo Regional Council Local Government Area.  The town was originally known as ‘Ironbark’s’. It was renamed ‘Stuart Town’ in 1879 with the construction of the Main Western Railway line through the village. According to the 2021 census the population of Stuart Town was 241 residents. Today Stuart Town helps to service the surrounding farming community with a post office, pub and general store.
