School Holiday Workshops

Every holiday period the WPCC offers a dynamic program of art and craft workshops to inspire students from 5 – 14 years of age.Choose the workshop of your fancy and create a masterpiece using collage and painting, printmaking or sculpture. Led a great team of artist/tutors who will help you have a creative holiday period.

 

 

Bring out the inner sculptor with these classes. Working with air dried clay.

Come along and work with Vicki, one of our talented and enthusiastic art tutors.

TUESDAY 6 OCTOBER

5 – 9 year olds 10:00 to 12:00

Create a fantasy creature of your own making. Working with air dried clay students will fashion a creature in class, then take it home to let it dry and paint it.

10 years plus 1:00 to 3:00

Working with air dried clay, create a sculptural form with influence from the natural world or the abstract. Take it home to let it dry and then paint it.

5 – 9 year olds 10:00 to 12:00

10 years plus 1:00 to 3:00

Go bananas with the contemporary world of Pop Art.

Join April as she shares her skills, knowledge and passion for making art.

WEDNESDAY 7 OCTOBER

5 – 9 year olds 10:00 to 12:00

What is your favourite animal at the zoo? Make a mask of that animal and a fold out diorama of where that animal might live.

10 years plus 1:00 to 3:00

Play with the properties of paint. Explore different ways of making a mark with paint on paper and create a self-portrait with some interesting paint techniques

Animal masks and new paint techniques.

THURSDAY 8 OCTOBER

See what the Pop Artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein were doing, then play with some bright and bold colours and minimal landscapes, add an animal or two and come away with some magnificent Pop Art for your wall.

5 – 9 year olds 10:00 to 12:00

Shadow Drawing. Bring a favourite toy (something that can stand freely and probably no larger than 50cms tall) along to this session and let’s head outside while the sun is shining. We’re going to do some shadow drawing. Put some colour into your drawings and bring them to life.

10 years plus 1:00 to 3:00

Cyanotype Printmaking on Fabric. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Come along and play with this process on fabric. Bring along a collection of things like feathers and leave etc to create an interesting image on fabric. Also have in mind a design or picture that can be drawn onto film.

Shadow Drawing and Cyanotype Printmaking using the power of the sun.

Pauline is an experienced and talented artist who is practiced in a variety of mediums.
