Our Annual Waste 2 Art community art exhibition is once again inviting schools, community groups and individuals to transform rubbish into art and design, in this innovative competition.
The purpose of Waste 2 Art is to encourage everyone to reduce, reuse & recycle, and change our attitudes about the things we throw away.
This years focus theme is Soft Plastics. If it is plastic, soft and can be scrunched into a ball, it’s a soft plastic. Household generated soft plastics include plastic bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, chip packets, snack wrappers, postage bags and cling wrap. Business generated soft plastics include product packaging, shrink wrap, pallet wrap and builder’s sheeting. These are all soft plastics and can be recycled into new and useful products, or used to make great Waste 2 Art competition entries. Just give it the ‘Scrunch Test’. While artworks do not have to be made using this year’s theme waste, we encourage everyone to consider within their works, the material and their message.
Get involved in an art competition that holds an educational focus that the community can enjoy and share.
